Historical information
Watercolourist William Blamire Young (1862-1935) was a local artist. His property Mutamaro was on the corner of Swansea and Edinburgh Roads Montrose, diagonally opposite the Mt Evelyn side. He lived there from 1923 till his death in 1935. Young is perhaps best known as the designer of the first Australian-themed stamp (kangaroo on map of Australia, issued 1913).
