Historical information

Tony Irving's works shows a snapshot of urban life, with the artist depicting various locations and laneways in Melbourne.

In the 1970s, he won the prestigious National Gallery of Victoria's John McCaughey Acquisitive Prize.

These seven etchings are the subject of the Private Press book: ‘The Laneways of Melbourne’ written by John Arnold, The Lytlewode Press, Melbourne, 2001.
