Historical information

Ted Cannon studied art at the Ballarat School of Mines. He enlisted during World War One, and was killed by a sniper while drawing enemy positions. The area where he is killed is known as 'Cannon's Post'.

Physical description

An ink drawing with red watercolour highlight on the face. The caricature was completed on the Western Front by a member of the Australian Infantry Force and sent back to Ballarat.
