This is a Memorandum of Agreement between the Registrar of the School of Mines - William Henry Barnard and the Collector of Monies for the school - James Johnston Twining. It states the length of time the monies can be held by the collector - 48 hours. It then must be paid into the Union Bank of Australia, Melbourne, to the credit of the Council of the School.
The Collector was paid Five Pounds per year plus Ten Percent in every hundred pounds collected at the end of each month.
Either party could terminate the agreement.
This was signed before a witness Charles Flude - teacher at the school.
