- Cockatoo Preserves Limited The first statutory meeting of the Cockatoo Preserves Limited was held at Wellington street, Collingwood, on Monday. The following report of the proceedings has been supplied: — Mr. Thomas J. Press, managing director, pre-sided. The main business was the confirmation of the sale of the old business of "Dyason's Proprietary Limited" to the present company. The chairman reported that, whilst the sales of the old company had increased five-fold in four years, the deliveries for the past six months were over 50 per cent, more than for the corresponding six months of last year. In addition to the Imperial War Office contract for two million pounds of jam (over 40,000 cases), another order had been received from the same source for a further big parcel, the whole of which is to be shipped during the coming six months; they had orders in hand for the Commonwealth troops running into many thousands of pounds in value, and a record number of orders in hand for the ordinary Victorian and interstate trade, amounting together to upwards of £70,000. Thus a very large increase in the total sales for this year is already assured.
