Matching envelope (0830.b) has type-written address and is post-marked Los Angeles. The stamp has been torn off. 'Please forward' is written in pencil across the bottom left-hand corner.

Inscriptions & markings

Letter is from Stanley Carraher and commences 'Hi Allen' and concludes 'Your friend, Stan'. It appears from the context of the letter that Stanley was one of Allen's fellow passengers in the recent car trip from New York to Los Angeles
