Historical information
The gentleman photographed is Alister Clarke who lived at Glenara in Bulla. He was an enthusiastic gardener who developed many varieties of rose for Australian conditions, such as the Lorraine Lee. He was also an active member of the Moonee Valley Racing Club and served 3 terms as Shire of Bulla President from 1895 -96, 1901 -02 and 1907 - 08.
Significance
Alister Clarke was a respected member of the local community and has left a great legacy.
