The punka was used in Australia. In civil lbuildings, factories and churches. Provenance - both Pat Cook and Judith Fawcett, museum members confirm that this punka was used upstairs in the Clunes Town Hall.

Physical description

Wooden frame with 3 metal rings on top, 2 with strapping/webbing attached. Frame is covered with hessian and wallpaper. There is a tapestry strip with fringe attached along the full length at the bottom of the frame. A Half-moon wood strip is fixed over the join of the tapestry piece and the frame.
