Historical information

Neilma Gantner, 7th November 1922 - 15 June 2015 was an author and the daughter of Merlyn (née Baillieu) and Sidney Myer. Her father Simcha Myer Baevski, was born in present day Belarus and began his retail dynasty with his brother Elcon Myer, establishing a small drapery shop in Bendigo and growing the business in the subsequent years to Myer Ltd 1925.

Physical description

Hand shovel currently in use for ceremonial plantings and sod turnings by the City. Plastic handle with silver rectangle head. Inscribed on the back.
