Physical description

A forged steel unusual long winged axe head blade without a handle - it has a hole for the handle. Originally it was "Japanned" finished' with black baked enamel which is now peeling off. There is a indented small zigzag pattern on the head where it would meet the handle. It was used in the 19th century possibly as a trimming axe.
