Artists statement

These two small symbolic windows (27 ½ x 6 ½ inches) are in the porch (or was it the baptistery?). Entitled Baptism it could also be termed Pilgrimage with the symbols of the shell and staff and refer to the travels of seafarers. When photographed in the 1990s the windows were in poor shape and in need of conservation to replace the full text in the baptismal window ‘Ecce …. Dei”; the shaft of light from the dove of the Holy Spirit was badly cracked.

Historical information

This window along with the second window in the baptistry was donated by an anonymous donour.
