Enamel candle holders with a candle were used for light prior to gas and electricity. The candles were held in a circular holder to catch the drips of candle wax. An atttached finger holder was added for carrying.
Physical description
Three quite damaged enamelled metal candlestick holders with a plate-shaped base and a small finger handle at the side. In the middle of the base is a metal cylinder to hold a candle. Two are white with a navy blue trim around the rim. One is light blue enamel with a a fluted shaped base and riveted loop handle. A semi-burnt candle is in one holder.
