Domestic object - Glass Jar, Bushells, 1940's- 1950's

Historical information

Vintage Bushells Coffee jars from the 1950s are collectible items featuring a distinctive "beehive" design with ridges along the sides and a screw-top lid. These jars, often made of glass, had the Bushells name embossed on the bottom and "VACUUM PACKED Coffee" on the lid. Some jars from this era have a paper lining inside the lid, which may include a message indicating a wartime conservation effort, specifically noting the lack of vacuum seals due to tin being reserved for defense purposes.
