Newspaper - Clipping, The failure of Ringwood's Karralika Theatre puzzles council

Physical description

Newspaper clipping containing a black and white photo of the manager of Ringwood's Convention centre, Mr Richard Cogswell outside the Karralika Theatre.

Inscriptions & markings

The Ringwood Council is puzzled why Ringwood people haven't been patronising shows at the Karralika theatre at the Ringwood Cultural Centre, Mines Rd., Ringwood. The 435 seat theatre, the big convention area and dining facilities are under the one roof. All are used regularly attracting crowds of up to 700. The theatre gains a ready acceptance from schools and community groups, but not with the shows it presents. The last few shows were flops. The theatre was less than one-tenth full for a recent show featuring Leonard Teale.
