He became a paraplegic in the early 90’s He was fearless in that wheelchair, refusing an electric one he would wheel uphill all the way to the Wonga Park Village shops, but no one would want to get in his way on the way home. He would head down the hill at such a speed it was frightening. At a stage when he was living in his own one night his house started to burn but he managed to get himself out and fortunately not injured.
