Historical information

These money trays used by the Bendigo RSL for many years at fund raising venues such as their Show Stall Stands at the Bendigo Show. The Stalls etc ceased before the Soldiers Memorial Institute became a Museum in 1998. They were then used by the Museum on a daily or specific occasion up to near closing for the Renovations in Sept 2016.

Physical description

.1) .2) Money Trays, timber frames rectangular shape, each has 8 compartments, 4 have a sloping metal inserts for dragging coins out, the other 4 are timber bottom with a lift up weight to hold notes down. One in the note spaces has a sloping metal lift up piece so excess notes can be stored under.
One is a light brown colour the other darker.

Inscriptions & markings

On two sides of each in black lettering underlined. "Bendigo R.S.L"
