Physical description

Red rubber pessary with cardboard box. The pessary is circular with a hole at the centre, resembling a donut. Cardboard box is square shaped, white and is printed with blue text. Front of the box carries a blue tinted images of the pessary and is printed with the text 'DAVOL Quality/ONE/NO./992/AIR/INFLATED/PESSARY' and is printed with manufacturer details at the bottom. Handwriting in pen on the front of the box reads '1.85', with indecipherable additional text afterwards. Back of the box is printed with the text 'DAVOL Quality/RED INFLATED PESSARIES/AVAILABLE IN FOLLOWING SIZES', with six sizes listed from NO. 991 to NO. 996. A handwritten 'X' appears next to the first size on the list. Bottom of box is printed with a size for this pessary - 'NO. 992/PESSARY/O.D. 2 1/2 INCHES SIZE 2'. Side of box printed with the text 'Smooth Sanitary Surface/MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'. The top of the box has been torn off and is missing.
