Historical information

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from 1997 and 1998 which at the time were believed to be historically notable. It was created by the Museum as predecessor to current newspaper filing practices.

Significance

This scrapbook collates a number of historically significant events in Emerald and the surrounding area throughout the mid-late 1990s.

Physical description

This scrapbook is a collection of newspaper cutouts pasted into a yellow Spirax perforated Sketch Book. The No. 533 book used has 20 sheets, for 40 pages; it appears the completed scrapbook has not had additional pages added. Pasted into the scrapbook are newspaper cutouts, many labelled in pen with their date of publication and/or newspaper of origin.
