Historical information

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from 1998 and 1999 which at the time were believed to be historically notable. It was created by the Museum as predecessor to current newspaper filing practices. It was started when VEMU2290 ran out of space.

Significance

This scrapbook collates a number of historically significant events in Emerald and the surrounding area throughout the late 1990s.

Physical description

This scrapbook is a collection of newspaper cutouts pasted into a blue Tudor perforated Sketch Book. The Tudor SP33 as sold in 2026 has 40 pages (20 sheets), which is consistent with the number of sheets present in this scrapbook. Pasted into the scrapbook are yellowed newspaper cutouts, many labelled in pen with their date of publication and/or newspaper of origin.
