Book - Emerald Historical Scrapbook 2001-05, Nobelius Heritage Park and Emerald Museum, 2001-05

Historical information

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from between October 2001 and January 2005 which at the time were believed to be historically notable. It was created by the Museum as predecessor to current newspaper filing practices. It appears this book was filled significantly slower than its two immediate predecessors (VEMU2290 and 2291), with a book of the same size lasting over a significantly longer period.

Significance

This scrapbook collates a number of historically significant events in Emerald and the surrounding area throughout the early-mid 2000s.

Physical description

This scrapbook is a collection of newspaper cutouts pasted into a blue Tudor perforated Sketch Book. The Tudor SP33 has 40 pages (20 sheets), which is consistent with the number of sheets present in this scrapbook - it does not appear that any extras have been added. Pasted into the scrapbook are yellowed newspaper cutouts, many labelled in pen with their date of publication and/or newspaper of origin. The bottom- and top-right corners are slightly folding inwards, with a crease on the front cover at each of those corners.
