Historical information
This crucifix has been used in the household at Hymettus cottage over the twentieth century as a focus for personal prayer. Typical of its type with the figure of Christ crucified surmounted with INRI sign "Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews" with the skull & crossbones beneath representing Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified and beneath this on the plinth a representation of a lamb, The Lamb of God in Catholic tradition as referenced in scripture.

Physical description
Light wood ebonised with corpus and symbols of Christ's crucifixion in silver attached, all set on a wooden plinth bearing a silver symbol of The Lamb.
