Lladro are famous for their porcelain. This particular statuette was first produced in 1971 and was retired by the company in 1998.

Physical description

Statuette of a male obstetrician. The subject has white skin, grey hair and moustache, and is wearing blue trousers and white/brown coloured shoes. The subject is wearing a doctor's gown over his clothing, tied at the back, and is wearing white gloves. The subject is holding a baby by his ankles in his left hand, with the baby's head pointing towards the ground and the baby facing the subject. The subject's right hand is raised as if about to 'smack' the baby on the bottom.

There is a Lladro maker's mark on the underside of the base of the statuette. Underside of the base is also inscribed with markings potentially indicating the maker of the statuette and the lettering 'G-16F'.
