Plan of Emerald Township Square Reserve, marked out 1859. The area was one mile square bounded by Boundary Road, Clematis Park-Telopea Roads, Prince Street, and Sherriff Road. Main roads are shown and large selections as at 1877.The township square was originally named 'Main Range near Emerald Diggings, Parish of Nangana'. Although the building blocks were marked at this time, little interest was taken in the area until 1877.
