Historical information

The original butchers shop was built in the Emerald township by Mr Couper in the early 1900s, then taken over by Mr J. Madigan, then by Mr Michael. The shop and adjoining residence located on the corner of Belgrave-Gembrook and Emerald-Monbulk Roads was acquired by the Stephens family in 1948..
