Historical information

This mincer originated from a farming property originally bought by C T Alexander in 1920 and which has remained in the Alexander family since then. Karen Alexander, grand-daughter of C T Alexander, has donated a range of items from the property including domestic, wood-working and agricultural.

Significance

Hand-operated mincers were common items of domestic equipment up until 1960s.

Physical description

Fowlers Vacola Meat Mincer or Juicer - hand-operated with a clamp below the main structure which permitted fastening of the mincer to a solid table or ledge. Made of cast iron with a red wooden hand grip. The mincing attachment is missing.
