Historical information
This small grouter was probably used in bricklaying, for example with brickwork around a fireplace. This grouter, along with a variety of other tools, was donated from a property in Emerald which was used for mixed farming and was owned by C Alexander (although he did not actually live there but leased it out) who bought it in 1920.
Significance
This grouter is emblematic of the diverse skills required of a farmer at the time.
