Historical information

The cards in the album from the period 1907-1917 belonged to Florrie Greatorex nee Darby (daughter of Ben Darby who was the stepson of Emerald pioneer, David Charman of Brookdale). Florrie, born in 1897, spent her early years in WA. Most of the cards are from her grandparents and other family in Victoria. Florrie later married Charles Greatorex who worked for Carl Axel Nobelius of Gembrook Nurseries and lived in Emerald. This postcard collection includes greeting cards, tourist cards and World War 1 cards

This is a significant and large postcard collection from the early 20th century.

Physical description

A large, red-coloured bound postcard album containing approximately 251 postcards dating between 1907 and 1917. Most cards are in very good condition and belonged to Florrie Greatorex (nee Darby) granddaughter of the Brookdale Charmans.
