Historical information

The store fronts would have been used for a variety of different stores over Emerald's long history, and at this point, possibly in the 1970's, the corner store was used for the selling of sporting goods.

Significance

This photo is historically significant to the town of Emerald as it shows the storefronts as they were at a certain point in history. It shows how Emerald was growing and expanding into a more urban town with the electricity, signage, and more modern cars for the time.

Black and white rectangular photograph printed on matte photographic paper. The black and white photo depicts the corner store for Emerald Sports, as well the florist to the left. The other two stores are not clear enough to name. Two cars can be seen down the road, as well as power poles and trees and shrubbery in the background.
