Historical information

Vera has written a poem 'The Fork' in memory of her long-lived mother Rita Madigan 1907 -2010. The prongs of the actual fork are worn, like the fork in the poem. Vera and Rita were long term Emerald residents. Their father and husband, Jim Madigan, was the butcher at Emerald for many years.

Significance

The poem and the accompanying fork is testimony to a daughter's love for her mother.
