Historical information

The subject of this portrait, Joseph Falcone, became the founding partner of the law firm, then known as Joseph S. Falcone (now Falcone & Adams) in Emerald, Victoria in 1977 working for many years as a sole practitioner.
Joseph has been involved in a variety of community groups including being a founding member of the Emerald and District Rotary Club, Emerald Football Club (including three terms on the Board), Emerald Cricket Club, acted as Chairman of the local Junior Football League Tribunal, acted as Chairman of Emerald Towards 2000 and acted as Chairman of the Dr Murphy Memorial Trust Fund.

Physical description

A rectangular, black and white photograph printed on matte paper. The picture depicts two men in an office. The man in the foreground is seated at a desk, which is at the front of the photograph.
This man has a full head of dark hair and a full moustache. He is dressed in a dark suit with a light-coloured shirt and a dark tie. His right arm is resting on the desk, and he is holding a pen in his hand. The second man is standing directly behind the seated man with his right hand on the back of the chair. This man has a full head of hair, a full moustache and full beard. He is smiling broadly. He is dressed in a light-coloured suit and a light-coloured tie.
On the desk, directly in front of the seated man is a large blotter with a large notepad on top of it. In front of the blotter there is a rectangular pen holder with a small note pad attached. To the right of the blotter is an open notebook and to the left there is a telephone with a receiver connected to the base by a coiled cable. There are square press button letter and number keys on the base.
Behind the men is an open cabinet with four shelves containing books, files and ledgers. On the wall next to the standing man there are three notices pinned to the wall.
