Significance

The Teasdale family were shop proprietors in the 1940s and 1950s in Emerald. Kevin Teasdale has written extensively about Emerald in that period. His writings are stored with photographs in his family folder in Filing Cabinet 6C. They are a valuable addition to understanding Emerald's history in the mid-20th century.

On back of photograph, written in biro: The Teasdale's "Glendale" apartment house c1950 - previously known as Nottingham House.
The Ford VS Panel Van carried fruit and vegetables from the Victoria Market to the people of Emerald for a decade from 1940. It then carried 32m film projection equipment around Victoria. Based in Emerald "Teasdale Talkies" took Warner Bros films to people who could not otherwise access "movies".
