Historical information

.1) Exercise book. This is the financial income/expenditure of the Bendigo RSL Museum (Soldiers memorial Institute Military Museum incorporating the Bendigo RSL Museum and Passchendaele Barracks Military Historical Society) It starts when the Museum officially opened to the public in Feb 1998 after an initial periond from October 1997. The funds were managed and entered by the Curator/Chairman of the Museum Sub Committee. The first entry is listed as being a report given to the BRSL AGM in Feb 1998. Donation to the Museum was by coin only.
The income was split 3 ways, BRSL 50% to cover electricity/gas/security. 25% each to the two museum sections for their individual collections.
In June 1998 what was the old BRSL "Drop in Centre Account" was converted for use by the Museum. The entries in this book go through to 22.3.2005.
.2) Collins Account Book. This book follows on from .1) with the first entry being 21.2.2025 back dating on some entries. The entries go through to 18.1.2006. A new financial breakup of the income began. The "Drop in Centre Account" was closed. A new account was set up in Bendigo District RSL Inc at Havilah road. The 50% the RSL had originally was now for "Major Projects" in the Museum, the two x 25% stayed the same. Another column was added for Petty Cash which the Museum retained. The Curator/Chairman managed the funds and was divided up and then taken to BDRSL for banking. The first entry in this part was 1.2.2006 and the final was in Oct 2011. The Account was closed and the Museum then became part of the Budget system of the Bendigo District RSL INC.
