About

Founded as the ParaVics Sports Club in 1962, Disability Sport and Recreation is a Victorian charity committed to creating change that sees improved choice, access and participation for people with disability who want to take part in sport and recreation.

The organisation's historical collection comprises of archival material stretching back to the 1960s. The collection includes photographs (and negatives); film; newspapers; scrapbooks; correspondence; flags; tournament memorabilia, including uniforms, flags, badges, pennants, ID cards and medals; as well as interviews with former champion athletes.

This collection has been made possible through generous funding from the Victorian Government and Public Record Office Victoria via their Local History Grants Program.
