Coloured postcard of the view from Little Collins St looking north along Elizabeth St. Has a northbound cable tram and several horse-drawn wagons in the view. In the view are the GPO, Newing's Artists materials, Royal Arcade, and Turner's bicycles. The letter is dated 8/12 from an Eck in Toorak addressed to Doris Ettelson in Ballarat. The stamp used was introduced in 1913 by the Commonwealth Government as the first National stamp - see reference. Card published by C T Melbourne. Letter to all employees, dated 5/4/1950, signed by Robert Risson, Chairman, about the strike now in its 6th week, noting it is a strike against the Arbitration Court, arguments of the Tramway Employees Association, and asking employees to consider to terminate the dispute given the length of the strike. Letter has been printed on a foolscap MMTB headed sheet with a typewriter style font and a printed signature font. Typed on a watermarked bond paper - "Satisfaca Bond". Document - VICTORIA HILL - LETTER TO MR BLAKE FROM ALBERT RICHARDSON
Carbon copy of a handwritten letter with typed copy of same, to Mr Blake from Albert Richardson dated 5th Sept. 1971. In the letter he says he enclosed a photocopy of the 'History of Victoria Hill', which he completed on behalf of the Rotary Club of South Bendigo. In response to an application to the National Trust for Classification, he received a letter from Colonel Birch and also two typewritten copies of his manuscript, properly referenced from his marginal notes. The Society had played host to the Dandenong and Preston Historical Societies and the members were pleased with what they saw on the Victoria Hill and other places.
