The SEC made this agreement with respect to the operation of tramways in Ballarat and Sebastopol in 1929, though the SEC did not formally take over operation until 1934. See item 7604 for a signed copy of the original agreement. This copy is a retyped version for reference.Yields information about the 1929 agreement between the SEC, The City of Ballaarat and the Borough of Sebastopol about the operation of tramways in Ballarat.Carbon copy of SEC made 26/10/1960 of the "Agreement between the SEC, City of Ballaarat and Borough of Sebastopol" re tramways at the time of the operation transfer of the tramways from ESCo to the SEC. Report - original typed copy - six foolscap sheets bound within a brown card folder, stapled, with adhesive tape binding on the outside. Titled "Speed Tests - PCC Type Car No. 980 - June 1950", marked "Chairman's Copy", dated 17 July 1950, prepared by the MMTB Testing Department, Report No. S21/1/2. Gives details of testing done to determine the coasting characteristics of the tram, with crush, seated or no load. Tested in Miller St, Preston. Also reports on the maximum speed compared to car 888, and scheduled speed. Has appendices with the actual data. Conclusion on page 3 - that 980 would show an improvement of about 5% in schedule speed of SW6 cars. Functional object - Ticket Wallet, Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board (MMTB), Journal or ticket record wallet, 1920c to late 1950's
Journal or ticket record wallet, consisting of two very heavy and hard pieces of brown coloured leather joined by a sewn (brown cotton) lighter piece of leather to form foldable wallet. The outside covers have been polished. Used to hold the ticket records or trip journals of a conductor. Originally stamped for use by North Melbourne cable tram depot, no. 101 and then "No. 67" or on rear No. 205 with other numbers stamped out. Has many nicks in the leather to hold elastic bands. Probably made when the MMTB introduced paper tickets onto the cable trams. On the inside has the Fare Section table for East Preston - City (via St Georges Rd and Latrobe St") - sheet 17 - which matches the 1955 Sections and Fares Book - see Reg Item 1207. Dark blue cloth covered bound book, 84 + 6 page glued in section (pages 62A to 62F) pages, plus printed end sheets used in covers, titled "MMTB Electric Tramways and Motor Omnibuses Sections and Fares", dated October 1955, authorised by C. E. Hall, Acting Traffic Manger. Book consists of one sections, bound with sewn cloth binding on the outside with glued white paper end covers. October 1955 Details the various section stages and fares for each tram and bus route, General instructions, concession fares and has photos or drawings of the various special tickets, eg passes or prepaid tickets. Has a number of glued in pages or part pages eg pages 17 (See Reg Item 1206 for the same page), 59, pages 62A to 62F, with an addition on page 62A. 2nd copy - similar but has slightly different additions.Both inside covers stamped "Cond School" of copy 1.trams, tramways, tickets, fares, sections, passes
