A history of three La Trobe University student union activists in the early 1970s - Brian Pola, Barry York and Fergus Robinson - who disobeyed the University's order to stay off campus. They were subsequently imprisoned at Pentridge Prison for several months although no criminal charges were made known. The account of on-campus student politics is fascinating and complex in comparison to contemporary student unionism. At the time of their release and to date, the University has not apologised to the "La Trobe Three" for what happened. The book is written by Barry York who was one of the "La Trobe Three"; it was published in the year of La Trobe University's 25th anniversary. The Artist in Residence program enabled research of the Museum's collection of artefacts relating to 11th Battalion AIF. Access was provided to the behind the scenes storerooms of uniforms, banners, photographs, artefacts and diaries. Michele summarised her experience with the project as follows: "It was an interesting experience and a topic I would not probably have considered had I not been asked. The mixture of history and the people who lived through these times has been an absorbing and rewarding journey for my art practice."Mixed media / textile art from Department of Culture and the Arts, Artist in Residence program 2015 by Michele Eastwood. The hand knitted sleeveless jumper in the Museum, made by Sergeant John Ellwood Rudd of the 48th Battalion was the inspiration behind this work. With great ingenuity John Rudd unwound the knitted socks sent by the women back home. Creating knitting needles fashioned from the barbed wire surrounding the POW camp he was incarcerated in, he knitted a jumper to help him through the freezing winters of Germany in the First World War. Original artefact was inspiration for this artistic interpretation.

Ticket was used in 1931 and kept in storage by a member of the Edina's crew. The SS Edina was the most famous steamer in Australia and underwent a number of changes and refits during its lifetime. It had an unchallenged record of strandings and collisions with other vessels and of escaping serious damage itself. The vessels City of Melbourne, Courier, Manawatu, Excelsior (twice), Hovell, Batman, all suffered. When Edina was retired in 1938 it was the world's oldest working steamer and had travelled more than 1 million km. She was finally broken up by George Seelf on the banks of the Maribyrnong in 1957.The SS Edina was an iconic and affectionately regarded part of Port Phillips maritime history and culture. It is historically significant for being internationally famous as the worlds oldest working screw steamship between 1912 and 1938. Its career was varied and interesting and it is considered significant for its involvement in the Crimean War, US Civil War, NZ gold rushes, and locally for its career as a western district steamship and Bay steamer. During the first goldrush of the 1850s, Chinese miners referred to the Bendigo region (then Sandhurst) as Dai Gum San 大金山 - literally 'Big Gold Mountain'. The Golden Dragon Museum is situated in the city of Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The museum is dedicated to the culture and history of Chinese Australians, particularly in the region. Built on the historical site of one of Bendigo's Chinatowns, the museum's precinct also includes Chinese Gardens and a temple to Kuan Yin. Through the museum accreditation program, it was the first accredited museum in Victoria and opened in 1991.
