The wheat silo was erected on railway land on the west side of the railway line at Sunbury from approx 1970s - 1980s. It served as a grain storage provision for the local cereal farmers.The former CFA depot which was in Evans Street. The Sunbury Post Office with a residence pictured in the image was the first official post office building in the town. It opened on the corner of Brook and Evans Streets in 1892. Prior to that time postal services were conducted in an office at Sunbury Railway Station. Although the present day post office is still on the Brook-Evans Streets corner, the building has undergone many changes in services and appearances over the years. This view of Sunbury Railway Station was taken from the corner of Brook and Evans Streets two years after the station underwent refurbishment and extensions and a carpark was constructed adjacent to the station. The Station Hotel was converted into three townhouses in 1995.The small white matchbox from the Station Hotel situated on the corner of Bridge & Station Streets, Port Melbourne. It was owned by well-known Port Melbourne footballer, Fred Cook from 1982. The background of the front cover logo depicts a stylised football with the four goalposts and 'Fred Cook's Station Hotel' in dark blue. The original Station Hotel was built in 1872 and a second story was added at a later date. Satin bodice with lace motives re-embroidered with pearl and sequins. Tulle yoke and sleeves with embroidered pattern lace motives and sleeve edge also re-embroidered. Satin bow on shoulders with pearl and sequins embroidering. Back of bodice to point over waistline, buttons down back - eleven self covered buttons over zip fasteners. Back waist finished with large bow at waist. Circular skirt gathered at bodice. Three panels inserted in centre front to 67cm high and 60cm wide. Attached underskirt. The card relates to The Bendigo & District Servicemen's Club as distinct from the Bendigo & District RSL Club Inc. The Servicemen's Club was owned by a Co Operative of the 3 Bendigo RSL's being Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat & Eaglehawk Sub Branches'. The Co Operative Society remained until the year 2000 when the facility became the "Bendigo & District RSL Club Inc". The membership re David Patterson 1978. He was a Bendigo RSL delegate for the Co Operative Society for its entire time until closure in 2000. He was one of the first Vietnam Veterans to serve on the Committee of the Bendigo RSL Sub Branch from 1976 - 78, he was Jnr Vice President for 1977 - 78. This racquet belonged to Miss Florence (Florrie) Carlson, born on 25/1/1892. She resided at 62 Station Street, Sunbury.Wooden tennis racquet with black, red and plain gut strings. Piece broken off end of racquet handle. Frame broken on one side and repaired with string. Other side repaired with tape. This photograph was taken during the upgrade of the Bendigo Railway line at Sunbury Station.
