The Flinders RVIB Auxiliary formed on February 28, 1956. This collection of papers includes the minute books from 1968 until 1989. The index cards were maintained by RVIB and contain the amount of donations made by the Auxiliary between 1976-1994, as well as the presentations delivered by RVIB employees to Auxiliary meetings between 1978-1985. The auxiliary had gone into recess a couple of times from 1989 to 1991 due to members being on holidays and illness and seemed to have disbanded in 1994. 2 minute books -- various loose papers royal victorian institute for the blind

4 page typed document, typed copy of article in Bendigo Advertiser 25th January, 1894. The Kangaroo Hydraulic Company had its plant south of Diamond Hill and 'a couple of miles from Kangaroo Flat'. The company had a Pelton Wheel to drive the crushing battery, 'one of the first in the colony'. Extensive detail on the operation. John Delbridge mechanical engineer was the engineer under who 'the plant has been erected' Mrs McGowan broke a bottle of champagne over the wheel. Ruby Wilson wrote to an English paper asking for a pen friend in 1930. John Archibald (Archie) Harker answered her request and thus started a long correspondence between the couple.eventuating in Archie sending Ruby an engagement ring. in July 1931. The correspondence continued till Archie came to Melbourne in June 1933 on the" Oronsay" and they married in December 1937. 280 letters in all. Ruby's elder sister Amy Thelma married Stanley Wieland thus placing the couple in the Wieland family and their story is in the Wieland's of Heathmont book by Pat and Don Talbot.Large number of personal letters, separated into pockets - letters written on lined note paper from Archie Harker to Ruby Wilson.
