On the front of the envelope are four Norwegian stamps; 1 purple, 2 blue-green and 1 small brown one. It is postmarked Oslo. On the back is a return address: Allan Quinn, General Delivery, G.P.O. In the upper left hand corner in large capitals is printed 'EILIV WAHR-HANSEN and underneath in smaller capitals TANNLEGE TLF. 692767. In the right hand corner in small print is OSLO with MAJORSTUHUSET printed below. The date 8/08/51 is hand written in black ink. There are four items listed below Allan's name. Each item has an amount written beside it with a total written below. There is something written in Norwegian under these lists. The matching envelope (0883.b) is blank on the front whilst in the middle of the back Eiliv Wahr-Hansen is printed above Tannlege Majorstuhuset Oslo. Enclosed is an account (0883.c) with a round Norwegian Red Cross stamp in the left upper corner and to the right of this in large capitals RODE KORS RONTGENINSTITUT; below in smaller print Fredrik Stangsgt. 11-13, telefon 44 39 80. The account is written in green ink with what appears to be a signature scrawled near the bottom in blue ink. Also enclosed is a small x-ray (0883.d). The envelope is pre-stamped with an embossed profile of King George V and a crown in white on a red, oval background. Postage is two and a half pence. The Upwelling Festival Portland is a community celebration of the Bonney Upwelling, presented by the Upwelling Festival Incorporated and including a partnership with other community groups. The Upwelling Festival celebrates what is unique about Portland and the community and show cases an important environmental phenomenon – the Bonney Upwelling. The Bonney Upwelling is a unique and epic natural ocean phenomena where the spring winds shift to the south-east driving a change in ocean currents that powers a seven month feeding frenzy of tuna, crayfish, giant crabs, squid, fish, seabirds, seals, krill and blue whales. An incredibly rich ecological food web, the Upwelling is at its greatest off the coast of Portland and is the cornerstone of the lucrative local fishing and tourism industry.
