The information on this document shows the inspiration and planning for the building of the aquarium at the Warrnambool breakwater. The instigator was Mr. John Doull, builders Fotheringham Constructions and architects, B. Auty and D Jenner. The Aquarium was opened in December 1971 by The Hon Ian Smith MLA. There were four separate exhibitions and galleries listed on the document. The Aquarium closed around 1998.A local landmark in the latter part of the 20th century with the domes being easily recognized. The Olympic precinct redevelopment was driven by a group of Ballarat Olympians to commemorate 50 years since the 1956 Olympic rowing events on Lake Wendouree. The memorial highlights the values of the Olympic movement and honours Ballarat Olympians by bronze casts of hands or feet. The memorial was constructed by Ballarat builder H. This extensive weatherboard store was built in 1893 at a cost of one thousand pounds, architect was H French, builder McKnockiter Bros and D Collins the plasterer. In 2002, the Master Building Excellence in Construction Award (Excellence in Construction (Existing Building) 85M-110M) was presented to L.U. Simon Builders Pty Ltd for the National Information Centre, Vision Australia Foundation, Kooyong. Dudley House at 60 View St, Bendigo was built by builders, Gretchen and Cooper for the public Works Department in 1858-59. It was originally built for the district surveyor, Richard Larritt, who designed the Bendigo street layout. The pencil advertises a Warrnambool business, Pontings Timber and Hardware. This business was founded in 1923 by brothers Walter and Len Ponting. Three of Walter’s sons took over the business in the 1940s and today it is still operated by members of the Ponting family. In the early 1900s, Melbourne builder Charles Keefer was hired by the Moorabbin Council to build the municipal baths at Beaumaris. In 1903, Keefer took over the Beaumaris Boat House and enlarged it to form Keefer's Boat Shed where day trippers and holiday makers could hire boats and venture out into the bay. After training as a Cartographic Draftsman within the mining industry, I worked as a property illustrator for real estate firms in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne for 22 years from 1983. I initially photographed houses with a Polaroid camera and made a 'thumbnail' sketch while there. The photos were used to scale off a sketch in pencil and then that sketch was overlaid with drafting film and the 'pen and ink' completed. The pens I used were the Rotring ‘Rapidigraph’ drafting pens. The ink was also made by Rotring (German).The film was ‘Rapidraw’, polyester drafting film, double matte. It takes a very fine line and doesn’t bleed. As well as house sketches, there were often floor plans and site plans ordered. Aerial sketches were ordered when the property needed an overall view.
