Each sheet faint ruled, both sides, with some additional pages fixed in. Right hand side only has the hand written details of each SEC Ballarat runs - giving sign on times, notes, timetables, which run taken or taken by, meal times, notes with regard to special instructions, finish times notes with corrections and changes. Includes weekday and Saturday runs. Sunday timetables not included in the notebook pages. Image 1 shows covers and image 2, one of the sheets with the runs printed on both side of the page. The drawing is very detailed showing streets, cross streets, route, loops, schools, woollen mills, ovals, sections, track phones, stops, route and track miles, pedestrian crossings, railway stations and notes on through route mileages.Print of a drawing showing in very good detail, the schematic layout of the Geelong Tram system. Produced in 1953 and sent to Tramway Supt. in 1970 for his records. Gives very detailed information on another SEC tramway system.Dyeline print of SEC Drawing No. GE-T13-8829, titled "Schematic Diagram Geelong Tramway Routes". Drawing prepared 27/8/1953. Stapled to the top right hand corner of the sheet is a SEC memo form from finance section, distribution services to the Dept. Tramway Superintendent, Ballarat, dated 6-2-1970 forwarding Les Denmead the plan. Was unstapled during the 1/2008 copying of the drawing. Headings are: Early History, Creation of the SEC, Acquirement by the SEC, Agreements with Municipalities, SEC Act, Municipal By-Laws (Buses), proposed extension of the tramway routes, physical characteristics and changes at Geelong, Outlook of SEC as to tramways, Attempts to define transport future, review by the Geelong Tramway Operation by the SEC, tramcars, fares, staff and employees, trams used in normal traffic, daily mileage, average speed of services, service summary, passenger density, present outlook, prospective cost to be faced if existing system is continued, Possible improvements to the present system, extensions to the present tramway system, conclusions. Probably prepared as one of the reports to be considered by Government in its decision to close the Geelong system in 1956. Yields historical notes about the method of track construction in Bendigo, the poor condition of the rails at the time of the report and the need to do work at Charing Cross.Typed foolscap sheet note or report titled "Bendigo Tramways - Tracks". Gives notes on the track construction methods of ESCo and reconstruction by the SEC. In the section titled 'Present Condition of Tracks". Note says need to obtain photographs and comments as for Ballarat. Also mentions that the CRB is anxious to re-deck the bridge running under Charing Cross - written date? Probably written for a report into the tramways by the SEC as part of a recommendation to close them. Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways ticketing system for use with the daily return from Sebastopol (See Reg Item 3492 for check ticket). Printed by ESCo for a specific route and particularly historic because a weekly set of tickets has been formed.Set of six Day return (4d) tickets for travel between Sebastopol and Grenville St - one for each day of the week. Have day of month around the edge, where it would have been nipped on the inward journey. Notes condition of use and that it must be given up on the return journey for a check ticket - See Reg. Significant in being a sheet regarding tramcar braking systems and how considered at the time - 1950. No mention of sand in braking technique.Was contained within Reg Item 3519 in which located in the filing cabinet 8/2006. Small typed carbon copy instruction or "Notice to All Traffic Staff" titled "Braking", discussing the names of emergency brake. Notes air braked trams have on emergency brake only - the air brake. Stopping trams electrically is not regarded as brake equipment, and should not be used unless air brake is defective. Dated 24/11/1950. Note the high set bumper bar on the tramcar and the large ticket wallet in the Conductors bags and the inside blinds on the windows of the saloon. Has a strong association with Elvie Phillips - at the time of the closure of the SEC system in Ballarat.Set of four colour prints - were contain within a folder (see below) of Elvie Phillips and crews at the time of the closure of the Ballarat SEC system - September 1971. .1 - standing on the step of a bogie tram with crew member number 58 behind. .2 - City loop with two crew members on either side - and three bogie trams .3 - standing in front of a single trucker, City Loop - with the Union Hotel behind. .4 - sitting on the bumper of a single trucker, Wendouree Parade, Gardens area with a crew member alongside. Printed on Kodak paper. Note - these type of photographs were common at the end of the SEC system - many people had these taken. Always in the way of the tram enthusiasts!
