F.S. Grimwade, MLC, J.F. Granter, MLC, & Mr R.H. Trethewey MLA, for a visit to the Central Deborah Goldmine and a ride in one of the famous Birney trams along the proposed tourist tram route from Central Deborah to the Joss House, passing more than 30 points of historical interest. Clipping from The Courier, Ballarat, 19/8/1971; two letters to the Editor, about the closure of the Ballarat tramways, that some of the trams and line should be saved and what the aims of the BTPS are. The first from a person titled "All Het Up", and the second from John Anderson of P.O. Box 145 Box Hill. The second clipping from The Sun, Melbourne dated 14/7/1971 written by Keith Dunstan in his column, "A Place in the Sun" about the forthcoming closure of the Ballarat and Bendigo systems. Black and White print of Bendigo SECV Bendigo tram 18 and four other trams (two bogies and two Birneys) at Eaglehawk tram terminus on a tour. Tram has dash canopy lights, but no large white strip under the drivers windows. Photo not dated but appears to be during early 1960's. Tram 18 has destination of "Railway Station", also has a white disk indicating a tram in a convoy.
