The Post War Planning Report was prepared by Leslie M. Perrott & Partners: (City Planning Consultants) and according to the report, it was submitted to the Council of the Municipality of Caulfield through its Special Committee on Post War Planning. The report has no evident date however the introduction text suggests that it was prepared before the end of World War II. The report is the only known extant copy and therefore considered rare. Bound report with grey cover titled: "Report to the Post War Planning Committee Caulfield City Council". Interior pages include x83 pages typed text printed on blue print paper; x3 pages copies of black and white photographs; 10 blueprint plans. 86 pages consistent in size with book cover, 10 x blueprint plans varying dimensions, folded and bound within the report. Printed on white sticker on spine of book "LH 994. 51" and on first page inside "CAULFIELD LIBRARY SERVICE REFERENCE BOOK" and on the verso of this page, another stamp with CAULFIELD LIBRARY SERVICE and LH REF 12/7 hand written in black ink and a 14 digit reference number below this. On the back of the last plan in the book, there is a blue stamp with "REFERENCE BOOK TO BE USED IN THE LIBRARY ONLY". Below this is a black and white barcode with a black line through it and a round, blue sticker beside it.

Norwood Secondary Teachers College teachers aimed to increase student awareness of the war years in several ways. The handprints of visiting Japanese student, Tomomi Honda, and year 10 student Hayley Marks, were set in a concrete block in a unique tribute to peace. A Japanese maple tree was planted beside the plaque.

This dress was donated by Judith McShane, the daughter of Ena Heazlewood, the maker of the dress. It was the First Communion dress worn by the daughter, Judith about 1952. Mary Josephine (Ena) Todd was born in Warrnambool in 1920. She was a hairdresser at Josephine’s Salon in Warrnambool and in 1942 married a Warrnambool man, Jack Heazlewood, a stoker on the H.M.A.S Sydney at the time. They later lived in Sydney. The material for this First Communion dress was brought back from Japan by Jack Heazlewood, on naval duties there at the end of World War Two.This dress is of interest as one made by a former Warrnambool resident and as an example of a dress made 70 years ago for a special event in a child’s life (First Communion Day) This is a hand-sewn child’s dress made of embroidered silk. The dress has a Peter Pan collar made of satin with a fluted satin band around the waist. The long sleeves are set in and the top has three press studs to close the opening at the front. The material is gathered at the waist and hemmed at the bottom. USS Missouri (BB-63) is an Iowa-class battleship and was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named after the U.S. state of Missouri. Missouri was the last battleship commissioned by the United States and is best remembered as the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan, which ended World War II.Missouri received a total of 11 battle stars for service in World War II, Korea, and the Persian Gulf, and was finally decommissioned on 31 March 1992 after serving a total of 17 years of active service, but remained on the Naval Vessel Register until her name was struck in January 1995. HMAS Sydney was a Majestic-class light aircraft carrier operated by the Royal Australian Navy. She was built for the Royal Navy and was launched as HMS Terrible in 1944, but was not completed before the end of World War II. The carrier was sold to Australia in 1947, completed, and commissioned into the RAN as Sydney in 1948. She completed two tours of duty in Korean waters. She was relieved in January 1952, after taking the Australian contingent to the U.K. for the Coronation, returning home on 16 N0vember 1952. she finished in Korean waters on 4 May 1953.HMAS Sydney was paid off into reserve in January 1958 and was recommissioned in 1962 as a troop transport. She completed more than 20 trips to Vietnam and was known by the nickname of 'Vung Tau Ferry'. HMAS Sydneys last trip to Vietnam was completed on 12 March 1972 and was paid off for disposal on 12 November 1973. She was sold for breaking up in Korea on 30 October 1975 and left Sydney in tow on 23 December 1975. A 'Lone Pine' was planted at Caulfield Racecourse in 1995 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II - as part of 'Australia Remembers'. A new bridge over the Snowy River at Orbost was opened for traffic on June 20th 1922. It was intended as a road and rail bridge, and was again partly washed away by flood waters in 1934. After the end of the first World War the Victorian Railways considered an extension of the railhead across the river at Orbost, and in 1922 a new timber and steel girder structure, a joint Country Roads Board — Victorian Railways venture, was built and completed at a cost of £41,000 (the steel girders came from the Flinders Street viaduct reconstruction). Subsequently it was decided decided not to take the railway across the river, and the bridge was only used by road traffic.
