The weatherboard former Golden Point Methodist Church was undergoing renovation in 2014. Typed and hand written notes on 'Gold Rushes around Bendigo', Eaglehawk Police Station, Bells In and Around Bendigo, Bendigo Historical Society Newsletter, Mr Henry Jones - Gold Buyer, and Sir John Quick. Gold Rushes Around Bendigo tells of some gold finds around Bendigo. Eaglehawk Police Station tells of the Building of the Log Lockups at Eaglehawk and White Hills and where the idea came from. Also the cost of building and source of logs. Bells In and Around Bendigo tell of a tram employee ringing a bell and shouting to all that the tram terminus at the Railway Station was discontinued. When this was sufficiently known the bell went to the Bridge Street Methodist Church. The BHS Newsletter mentions business men's names and connection with their trade. Mr Henry jones - Gold Buyer mentions where his office was and that you could buy gold and money could be exchanged as well. Scots Presbyterian Church, Lake Bolac. The architect was Mr George Harriot and it was built of local bluestone by stonemason Mr Helme and completed in 1878. The Rev. Mr J S Muir took the opening service. Mrs John Moffat and Mrs William Veale laid the foundation stone. It was furnished by the existing Kauri pews but the present pulpit is not the original. The foundation stone of the New Wesleyan Church, Were Street, Brighton, Victoria was laid by Mrs W P Wells, the wife of the Superintendent of the Brighton Circuit and President of the Victorian Wesleyan Conference in 1887. The foundation stone was temporarily removed in the late 1930s and the 1937 publication "Were Street Jubilee" details the "proposed Jubilee Church". The same trowel was used when the stone was re-laid in 1955 at the beginning of the construction on the new church. S060.1 Silver commemorative trowel with a bone handle. Leadcourt Homestead was built about 1868 by Mr. John Holt. Stone was transported from Mr Difficult. The Governor was entertained here in 1868 when he opened the Stawell Railway Station. A night exposure of Bridge Street looking west. The tram tracks are clear, one set going straight ahead up Victoria St hill, the other set turning along Main Road. Stone's at Stones Corner was a select ladies dress shop for many years. Mrs Bon Strange and her husband Bert were well known Ballarat residents. When Mrs Strange died some years ago, her extensive slide collection was sorted through and those relevant to Ballarat were gifted to the Ballarat Library. bridge street

Some of the earliest regular attendees at Brown Hill Methodist Chapel (tent) were Mr and Mrs J.I. Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Mrs Heywood (formerly Kelly), Mrs Powell, Mr and Mrs Robert Allan, Mr and Mrs Fitzsimons.Copy of a black and white photograph of the Brown Hill Methodist Church, later the Brown Hill Uniting Church. A weatherboard church was built c1857 at a cost of 400 pounds. Itg also served as a school house. The brick church was built in 1969 at the cost of 714 pounds. Photos of Mt Heatherly, an historical building in Belgrave, opposite Belgrave Lake Park. Address is Park Drive, on the corner of Waratah Ave. The house is now owned by Mrs Elizabeth Schneider, and was first constructed around 1881 by the first owner of the selection, Ormond Smith. It was made of hand-made bricks made on site, and a foundation of rock and stone. The original house may have had a corrugated iron roof. The original house forms part of the modern house. Black and white photo of Eva Victoria Crowhurst Plummer, b. 6th Sept 1890, Kensington, Vic., d. 20th July 1985, Ferntree Gully, vic. She married Frederick William George Woods in 1913 and they had four children, Fred, Jack, Marjorie & Betty (the future Mrs John DeDoite). After the death of Fred in 1951 Eva resided at the family's Belgrave Heights holiday home until her death in 1985. The photo shows a young woman with dark hair. She is wearing a high-collared dress trimmed with a crocheted or tatted one-piece collar. She has long earrings with several small stones.
