These cuff links were produced for the Warrnambool City Council presumably to give as gifts to visiting dignitaries etc. They may also have been available for the public to purchase. Warrnambool, first settled in 1847, was proclaimed a Municipality in 1856, a Borough in 1863, a Town in 1883 and a City in 1918. These cuff links are of minor interest as an example of an item produced for the Warrnambool City Council – to use either as gifts or to sell to the public as a memento of the city. These are round metal cufflinks (2) outlined in gold with gold pins (two prongs and a bar) for attachment to the shirt sleeves. The cuff links have the City of Warrnambool logo with gold, blue and cream printing and enamelling. The cuff links are in a plastic box which has a white base and a clear plastic lid and red velvet lining. History of Clock Wandin North 8th Jan'y 1952. This clock was bought by the late Henry Sebire of 'Mont de Lancey' Wandin Yallock, at a clearing sale of Mrs Newey's at Seville about the year 1890; After his death in July 1902 the clock was given to his eldest son, one of his Executors, (Henry T. Sebire) of Ivanhoe, who died on 29th November 1935. On 6th February 1945 nearly 10 years later Mrs H. T. Sebire gave the clock to Wandin T. Sebire of Wandin North, who very much appreciated the gift. The clock was called for at Ivanhoe by Len Sebire, on 21st March 1945. Wandin T. Sebire. The clock was oiled and repaired by Mr Upton Watchmaker of Wandin North returned by him on 4th Dec 1951. Oiled again and returned 7th Feb. 1953.A tall narrow pendulum wooden wall clock with a white round clock face, with Roman numerals, elaborate fine hands and a brass pendulum enclosed in a glass faced compartment which has a decorative dark wood at the top. There are small clips at the top and bottom to open the case door. A brass key is stored inside the cabinet.This note was attached to the donation sheet. David FRAZER (1966- ) Born Foster, Victoria, Australia David Frazer works in painting, wood engraving, etching, lithography and bronze. He studied a B.A. Fine Arts (Painting) at Phillip Institute of Technology, followed by a Diploma of Education (Secondary- Art/Craft) at Latrobe University in 1991. He completed an Honours Degree in Fine Art (Printmaking (at Monash University in 1996, and between 1998 and 2000 Frazer undertook a Master of Arts (Visual Arts) by research: “Pastoral Melancholia”, at Monash University. One of Austalia's foremost printmakers David Frazer's highly detailed woodblock and linocut prints often explore the emotional and fragile state of the human condition. His work offers a nostalgic image of Australia through its examinations of landscape, Australian buildings, sheds, and itinerant travellers. He has held seven solo exhibitions between 1996-2006 in Melbourne, Sydney and a survey show curated by the Horsham Gallery, which toured Victorian regional galleries from 2004-2005. David Frazer’s work was seen in 37 group exhibitions between 1996-2006 including the 5th British International Miniature Print Exhibition in the UK, in the 2003. The 1/15 Royal New South Lancers and 8/13 Victorian Mounted Rifles were sister armoured corps regiments of the Citizen Military Forces, now Army Reserve, formed in 1948.
