The ship HMAS Cerberus was Built at Jarrow, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1870, specifically for the colony of Victoria (Australia) and originally named HMVS Cerberus. It had a displacement of 3480 tons and could travel at the speed of 10 knots. The ship carried 4x 10 inch M.L.R. guns. The ship was renamed HMAS Cerberus in 1911 when the navy became the Royal Australian Navy. The photograph was mounted by members of HMAS Cerberus at Crib Point, Western Port Bay, Victoria in 1986. It was presented to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village by the HMAS Cerberus Museum in 1986 to commemorate the ship's 75 years of service for the Royal Australian Navy. The photograph is significant for its connection with the colony of Victoria before Federation. It is also significant for its connection with the Royal Australian Navy and its service and training of Australian defence forces. Photograph behind glass, in timber frame. This style of jumper has a long history in the Royal Australian Navy, descending from the uniform style of the 19th century Royal Navy.Navy blue long sleeved, heavy-weight jumper with square rig collar. On left sleeve is an embroidered patch with the word "AUSTRALIA," underneath which is an anchor insignia and three downward pointing chevrons in gold embroidery thread. On right sleeve is an embroidered patch with the word "AUSTRALIA" on the upper shoulder, underneath which is an embroidered gold wheel on a semi-circle shaped patch. The jumper has a deep neckline, tied with a cotton navy tie. Accompanying collar (0036.2) attaches to the jumper via three navy blue plastic buttons at the back of the neck, and three navy blue plastic buttons running down both left and right interior neckline. Standard hat issued by the Royal Australian Navy to members of the Women's Royal Australian Navy Service during World War ll. This is a black, felt hat with a faded black tally band with "H.M.A.S. CERBERUS" embroidered in gold lettering. The interior of the hat has a grey sweatband. embroidered with the name : "H.M.A.S. Cerberus" and a sewn, labelled tag on the inside of the hat reading "N18, 1944, Size 21-1/2, MADE IN AUSTRALIA".

HMAS Quickmatch was a Q Class destroyer built for the Royal Navy and was commissioned to RAN in September 1942. HMAS Quiberon was a Q Class destroyer build for the Royal Navy and was commissioned to RAN in July 1942. Air Sea Rescue Boats, after their order were delivered to Sydney in June/July 1944. Flewellen volunteereed for RAN service in January 1913, and shortly thereafter began training as a "boy" on HMAS Tingara. He then served on HMAS Sydney and in 1914 was a member of the Australian Navy & Military Expeditionary Force to German New Guinea, taking part in November 1914 in the Battle of Cocos against SMS Emden.
