Trolley wire sample from the overhead at the former South Melbourne depot mounted with two nails from the rear on a white painted wooden block, with the label "Tramway Trolley Wire from South Melbourne Depot 1925-1997" The label has been printed onto a manila coloured sheet and nailed to the side of the block. Neddy’s superiority complex at seeing out these early manifestations of our mechanical age was heightened when the front wheel of a nearby motor-truck fell off."
