Photograph - Army Survey Regiment - Regimental Training Field Phase, 1995
This is a set of twenty photographs of the Army Survey Regiment undertaking regimental training in state forest north of Costerfield, Victoria, 1995. The state forest is now part of the Heathcote-Graytown National Park. The aim of the training was to provide personnel practical revision of infantry and minor tactics at the section level, navigation and map reading, RATEL and Survival in the Field. This was the Army Survey Regiment’s last military skills field training exercise before disbandment of RA Svy and the weather on the last day was wet and cold. It provided soldiers who decided to continue their military service essential military skills revision and for those who chose to discharge from the Army, it reinforced their decision to leave. LTCOL Duncan Burns was the last CO of the Army Survey Regiment from 1994 to 1996 and WO1 Ken Johnston OAM MM from RA Inf was the RSM for one year in 1995.This is a set of twenty photographs of the Army Survey Regiment undertaking regimental training in state forest north of Costerfield, Victoria, 1995. VIOSH accepts people into the Graduate Diploma of Occupational Hazard Management who have no undergraduate degree - on the basis of extensive work experience and knowledge. Document is a Draft Proposal for a Pilot Project to Develop a Databank of Successful Engineering Solutions to Health and Safety Problems. It has been written by Dr Dennis Else, Visiting Fellow, Ballarat College of Advanced Education. Dennis is also a Senior Lecturer, University of Aston, Birmingham, England. The document outlines the need for a databank and often ""our failure to control health and safety problems is from our inability to apply existing knowledge rather than because the knowledge does not exist." The control solutions would need to be technically vetted to ensure feasibility of the solution. An experienced group of specialists in aspects of health and safety and from engineering branches would be required. Ballarat CAE already has this blend of expertise. They have been responsible for the development of Australia's first tertiary course in Occupational Health and Safety and Occupational Hazard Management.Fifty-seven A4 pages - includes 27 pages of photocopied pages from reference books and 11 pages of Curriculum Vitae, Staff.viosh, victorian institute of occupational safety and health, ballarat college of advanced education, dennis else, databank, engineering solutions, draft proposal, visiting fellow, occupational hazard management, occupational health and safety, multidisciplinary team, dulcie brooke, max brooke, gerald fernandez, kathleen kent, peter mccarthy, tom norwood, roy schrieve, bill vermeend, derek viner, derek woolley -
