Eight Page A4 size printed report on the progress of the reconstruction of Horse Tram No. 1 produced during 1988 about the work being carried out by the BTPS. Consists of two A3 sheets printed both sides and folded to form an A4 size report. Includes work to date, some notes on the horse trams, sponsors, the Ballarat Vintage Tramway itself. Eight photos included, showing the completed under frame, Bob Prentice, Dave Macartney, Gary Wood and Jacqui Edwards and other stages of the work. Document regarding the abandonment of tramways in Ballarat and Bendigo. Presented to State Parliament Sept. 1970 by the MInister for Fuel and Power, the Hon J C M Balfour MLA. Outlines the losses incurred by the SEC, replacement public transport system, the worn out nature of the system, the gifting of one Bendigo tramcar to the AETM, costs of track repairs and new trramcars, tenders for replacement bus services, retrenchment payments to staff, reconstruction of existing roads following removal of the tracks, and town planning and traffic aspects. Includes a photo of a bus and interior seating. The manager Peter Hodgetts, seated on top of tram, lived at 1163 Gregory St. Company had 13 cottages for employees building along south side of Gregory St. The Frasers lived next door to the sheds. Norman Fraser remembers a horse named Nobby which could not be shod unless its legs were tied. Big George Barnett did the job. He is pictured standing in from of Mr Fraser Senior along with blacksmiths Moyce and Lang. The drivers were Nicholls, Gaston, Buckley, big George Armstrong (lying on the ground) and John Cameron.
