The Office was located within the premises of Melbourne Legacy for a peppercorn rent and moved to Sydney during 2015.A record of the past Chairmen of Legacy Co-ordinating Council.Portrait photos of 48 Legatees detailing their names and years of service as Chairman, Legacy Coordinating Councils. For two Past Chairmen portrait photos were unavailable. In a black frame with clear glass. Names and years of service for the 48 Legatees that served as Chairman are detailed under photos of each. Plaque at the bottom centre of the Framed piece reads - "Presented by the Chairman Legacy Australia Inc. to the Melbourne Legacy Club. In appreciation of the generous support of the Legacy Coordinating Councils by providing office space and an executive from its ranks. Photocopy of a letter dated August 5, 1908, typed on ESCo letterhead to Mr. J. Lazarus Esq advising that he capably acted as Surveyor and Superintending Engineer for the construction of various sections of tramway track in Ballarat and thanking home for his work. Signed by E. James Beauchamp, Assistant Engineer and Manager. Accompanying the photocopy is a photocopy of a letter dated 17/3/1993 from Brian Robertson of 20 Main St Welshpool. Items from Mr. Lazarus had been left to him. Comments that Mr. Lazarus was a well known engineer in Ballarat prior to the first world war. On 31 October 1992, a parade was held at Australian War Memorial to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the charge at Beersheba, Egypt (present day Israel) on 31 October 1917 during the second battle of Gaza, by two regiments of Australian Light Horse, 4th ALH and 12th ALH to capture the all-important wells in the town. An Honour Guard drawn from the Victorian Mounted Rifles Squadron of 4/19 Prince of Wales’s Light Horse, commanded by Lieutenant Kelvin Robertson, paraded in the forecourt of the AWM together with a body of horsemen from the Light Horse Association. Host for the parade was Mrs Elyne Mitchell OAM, daughter of wartime commander Lieutenant General Harry Chauvel. The reviewing officer was Lieutenant General J C Grey OA Chief of the General Staff. Concurrently, a parade was held in Melbourne where 4/19 Prince of Wales’s Light Horse and other units and services exercised their right to freedom of the city. Report - printed onto a folded double folio sheet, titled "The Melbourne, Brunswick and Coburg Tramways Trust - Report to Constituent Councils for Period ended 30th September 1914". Outlines the setting up of the trust, the committee, survey, specifications being prepared, depot locations and alterations to services. Notes the estimated cost of construction and finance through debentures. Dated 13/11/1914. Rear page has the financial statement, including the operation of the horse tramway for six months.
